Sato thermal ribbons

Sato thermal printer ribbons are stocked in a variety of widths. It is important to cover the entire label and liner edges went thermal printing. For example if you are using a 4” wide label your ribbon should be 4.33” wide. Using a smaller ribbon them label can cause damaging your thermal printer head. The direct contact of the label line on the thermal print head can burn out cells. When needing to increase your label size the lines will become noticeable and could affect barcode readability.
 

In some cases Sato thermal ribbons can be inner changed with Datamax thermal printer ribbons. They are both wound with coated side in however Datamax thermal ribbons are typically a little shorter in length at 1181 ft. Sato thermal ribbons come standard with 1345 ft per roll as available is shorter rolls of 984ft. this is great to now when shopping for Sato thermal ribbons not all rolls are created equal. Sato ribbons are as so available is a variety of wax/resin combinations. Thermal paper applications would have higher wax content were films such as polyester would require a high resin contact.
